This Volunteer digger, Wilbur Cutter, assissting archaeologists in Orangeburg.program pairs professional archaeologists with local governments, historic societies, and volunteer groups to examine cultural resources needing evaluation outside of the compliance arena.

ACC personnel, in conjunction with other professional archaeologists, donate their services to excavation of the Kolb site in Darlington County, South Carolina.  This site is undergoing a multi-year investigation with Photo from Kolb sitecrews of avocational archaeologists and other volunteers.  Excavations are carried out for 2 weeks each year and a public day is held.  Volunteers and visitors to the site include groups of home school kids, boy scouts, and other clubs.  To read more about the Kolb site click HERE.
