Mr. Bobby Southerlin (B.A., University of South Carolina; M.A.,University of Georgia) has over 20 years experience in Southeastern archaeology. He has participated in and managed all phases of archaeological investigations for both research facilities and cultural resource management (CRM) firms. Mr. Southerlin served as Vice President for one of the largest CRM firms in the Southeast for eight years before establishing ACC, Inc. His research interests include prehistoric settlement patterns and technologies. He is a primitive technologist and produces museum quality reproductions of prehistoric ceramics and stone tools. Ms. Dawn Reid B.S., University of California, M.A., University of Georgia) has 15 years experience in archaeology. She has worked extensively in California, the Southwest, and Mesoamerica, but has focused on the Southeast for the last 10 years. She has conducted all levels of archaeological investigations in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. Her research interests include prehistoric subsistence patterns and she specializes in the analyses of faunal remains recovered from prehistoric sites. Mr. Michael O'Neal (M.A. University of Arkansas, Fayetteville) has six years experience in southeastern archaeology. His master's work focused on ground stone technology from the Middle Missouri Subarea in South Dakota. Mr. O'Neal has worked in Arkansas, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. Mr. O'Neal has participated in numerous survey and testing projects, as well as serving as Project Manager on several surveys in North Carolina, Virginia, and South Carolina. His interests include lithic technology, ceramics, and geographic information systems. Mr. O'Neal currently holds the position of Senior Archaeologist.
Ms. Rachel Tibbetts (B.A. Anthropology–Yale University; M.A. Maritime Archaeology– University of Southampton, England) is Vice President and Laboratory Director. She brings a wide breadth of experience to ACC, Inc. She has formal training in underwater archaeology, where her interests center on Phoenician trade in the western Mediterranean. In addition, she has experience both in the United States and Europe in conservation and preservation, fieldwork (both underwater and terrestrial), experimental archaeology, and cultural heritage management. Mr. Joseph C. Sanders (B.A. Anthropology- University of North Carolina, Wilmington) is graphic artist, GIS specialist, and web designer. He not only brings 15 years of professional archaeological experience but also over five years of graphics and GIS experience to ACC, Inc. Mr. Sanders has had formal training in Auto CAD, as well as Trimble GPS systems, and is proficient in the use of a variety of survey equipment, including but not limited to total stations and laser transits. In addition to his graphics and mapping duties, Mr. Sanders designed and constructed the company's web site. He is an A+ and Network + Certified Professional, and serves as computer support and network administrator for the office. Mr. Sanders is also owner of Archaeomaps Graphics.
Ms. Kimberly Villemez (B.A., Classical Archaeology - University of Evansville; M.A., Anthropology - Ball State University) is the Laboratory Supervisor. Kim specializes in historical archaeology and has formal training in ceramic identification and analysis. She has participated in laboratory and fieldwork in the Southeast U.S., California, Indiana and Italy and has extensive experience in processing and analyzing both historic and prehistoric artifacts. Her research interests include historic European ceramics, historic documents, and Etruscan archaeology.
